Founded in 1998 the Motopark Academy racing team takes part in formula series since 1999 with the priority to promote young talented race drivers. Therefore a highly effective team was built on the basis of experienced Formula 3 technicians. Besides excellent technicians and engineers, the direct connection to the race track Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and state of the art equipment are significant factors of success of the team.
In 1999 and 2000 the Motopark Academy participated successfully in the Formula König, gaining numerous podiums and victories already during the first season.
Since 2001 the team focuses on the Formula Renault with a similar track record - numerous pole positions, podiums and victories were won already in the first season. Scott Spped (USA) hit the mark in 2004 by winning both the German and the European Renault championship. Two years later in 2006 Felipe Albuquerque (POR) repeat this victory and in 2008 Valtteri Bottas (FIN) managed to triple the success in both Renault series. In 2009 António Félix Da Costa (POR) continued the streak of success by winning the NEC title and ending up third in the European Formula Renault championship.
After winning seven championships in the Formula Renault the Motopark Academy decided to enter the prestigious Formula 3 Euro Series in 2009. A first victory and a striking performance in 2009 encourage us to soon be as successful as we were in the
Formula Renault series.
Particularly with regards to the promotion of young driver talents the Motopark Academy has developed a special education program. The students benefit especially from Timo Rumpfkeils's personal experience gained in diverse formula and touring car series until 2001. Based on this knowledge and experience he supports young race drivers and helps paves the way to a successful career in motor sports.
A track record of eight championships, 95 poles and 97 victories within the Formula Renault and a promising first season in the Formula 3 Euro Series with one victory and one second place speaks for itself!
